This blog is about all of the feel good places and people that make up a destination. The Island Inn on Martha’s Vineyard is one of those places. It keeps you coming back. When I was young with a new family, I started coming here. I even brought the dog. However, now that I am older, I still come back. Over the years I am happy to be reunited with the other guests who make the same faithful return. Howard likes to visit once again with his four-legged friends too.
The Island Inn is located on ten green acres that run parallel to the Farm Neck Golf Course. It boasts views of the Nantucket sound and sits conveniently between the towns of Oaks Bluff and Edgartown. You will find an immaculate and secluded swimming pool, tennis courts, barbeque area, conference rooms, and features for young families with kids. The Island Inn has 51 units to choose from. In addition, they have renovated over 90% of their units. All of them are appointed a unique and fresh island style. If you are find yourself hungry, Lola’s Restaurant is adjacent to the property. I have had some of the best meals and drinks there.
However, there is another main feature that makes people come back. It is the staff. They are the people who make it a great place to stay. No detail is too small for them and when you return to the resort, you are welcomed back like an old friend. Last year Jasmine came to the rescue with my cell phone issue and Carol is someone who remembers something special about every guest while striving to make it the best stay ever. The entire staff go the extra mile.
These are the reasons I come back every year. Oh, and the crickets. Who needs a sound app when you can fall asleep to that…
