Fall Run Park in Glenshaw: Scenic Trail and 30 Foot Waterfall

If you live or work around Pittsburgh, there is a good chance that you drove past the entrance of Fall Run. I cannot tell you how many times that I’ve unknowingly driven past the exit. The park is located north of Pittsburgh in Glenshaw with over 93 acres of nature.

It is the perfect place for everyone. Families love it for their kids as there is plenty of room on the wide paths, fairy gardens, and a shallow creek for them to dip their feet. Dogs are welcome too as long as they are on their leash.

The trail is moderately flat and well worn. It leads to a 30 foot waterfall and a set of stairs which enable the visitor to get a closer view of the falls. At the top of the stairs, you can continue further on the trail. The total distance round trip is approximately two miles with plenty of opportunities for photo ops and bridges to cross. In 2018, the park underwent a $1 million restoration which included the replacement of the wooden bridges and staircase complete with hand rails.

Fall Run is the perfect place to get in some exercise or spend time with nature. It’s also easily accessible making it the perfect place in any season.
